Service Description

FLOURISHING FUTURES 11+ Tuition (8.45-9.40am) In the stunning grounds of Weston Turville Golf Club, Flourishing Futures provides inspiring, engaging small group 11+ tuition for primary aged children. This course will aim to help your child to gain familiarity with the 11+ Bucks paper style of questioning to improve their mental agility, mental maths skills, vocabulary, comprehension abilities, verbal and non-verbal reasoning skills, pattern spotting and to develop accuracy under time constraints. We will also look at their motivation, mindsets and learning powers, spending a little time weekly understanding mindfulness techniques and their ability to provide greater focus thereby also nurturing a calm approach to the test and to life. This course is only six weeks long. It is recommended that children sign up for longer periods of time to support their 11+ goals. It will aim to increase their confidence, and aid their understanding of 11+ expectations in readiness for the Bucks exam. The aim is to support their education, build their confidence and encourage an engaging approach to help them with the test and their education more generally. NB. This course does not guarantee an 11+ pass. There are too many variables including feeling out of sorts on the day of the test physically or mentally, to make these guarantees... The course does, however, promise to help to guide your child towards fulfilling their education potential, in a small group settings where they are valued, listened to and feel comfortable to make mistakes and learn. We aim to help them to approach life with more confidence and a growth mindset, able to adopt a more mindful approach. All children, no matter what challenges they face, will be accepted onto the programme. We do not educationally screen children for entry or for 11+ success. We therefore, do not only take those children that are more likely to succeed in securing a place at grammar school. Our belief is that every child has the potential to succeed, with or without their 11+ success, but sometimes ability to focus, SEND and mental health issues can provide obstacles...What matters is how they are supported at home, how they are valued and nurtured at school, and the amount of practice paper exposure, with support to work out the answers, that they have in a relaxed environment in the centre and at home.
